FORMER director of rugby Steve Diamond has hinted that he still harbours hopes of saving Worcester Warriors from administration.

For the first time since the club folded back in September, Diamond has spoke out on social media this afternoon.

Having seen the news that the relationship between the RFU and preferred bidders Jim O'Toole and James Sandford seems to be at breaking point, Diamond tweeted.

"I can confirm that Adam Hewitt and I are fully committed to bringing Worcester Warriors back to the Premiership. We have the Plan and the funding," he said.

"Give us the opportunity. We will give you the rugby. Bring it on!"

It comes as the latest twist in the tale and also suggests that potentially there could be hope for the former Sale DoR that he could yet get his wish.

Back before O'Toole and Sandford were named as preferred bidders, Diamond produced a presentation outlining his consortium to buy the club.

Diamond put together a 15 minute presentation on behalf of his 'Sixways Village' bid backed by the now confirmed local investor, Adam Hewitt.
