AN AWARD-winning pub will be temporarily closed in the new year for 'essential works.'

Punters will have to look elsewhere for a new year drink on Monday, January 9 because The Alma Tavern on Droitwich Road will be closed for a staff festive party.

Landlords Jon Dean, aged 51, and Will Bradley, aged 38, said they want to throw a party for their staff as a reward for all their hard work throughout the year.
