Hundreds of Worcester News readers packed into the Cathedral for our annual Carol Service.
The service was held at Worcester Cathedral on Wednesday evening.
More than 900 readers attended enjoying a combination of traditional and modern readings and carols.
Music was performed by the Cathedral Choir and the congregation was given a warm welcome by the Dean of Worcester, the Very Rev Peter Atkinson.
The service started with the traditional Once in Royal David's City, other carols included Away in a Manger, See Amid the Winter's Snow, O'Little town of Bethlehem and O Come, all ye Faithful.
Readings were given by the editor of the Worcester News Stephanie Preece, the Managing Director of Newsquest (Midlands South, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hereford & Wales) Julia Lancett and Regional Newspaper Sales Manager Julie Bolton as well as the Mayor of Worcester Cllr Adrian Gregson.
This year was the first year that readers did not have to apply for tickets in advance.
The editor of the Worcester News Stephanie Preece said: "It was wonderful to see so many of our readers attend the annual Carol Service
"The service is a highlight in our calendar and it's always a pleasure to share it with you.
"It was particularly pleasing to see the cathedral once again full - as it was prior to the Covid pandemic.
"I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all of our readers, advertisers and friends a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and happy New Year."
