More than 40 local businesses took part in the launch of a Worcester group that aims to provide holistic support for the education sector.
The Sterling Education Group - which is a network of educators, suppliers and manufacturers - officially launched on January 11.
The group, which aims to provide holistic support for the entire education sector, including schools, colleges, and universities, saw an "overwhelming response" from members and the education community.
"We are thrilled with the success of the launch of the Sterling Education Group and the positive response from the education and business sectors," said Neil Davis, MD.
"Our aim is to create a valuable resource for decision makers in the education sector to make connections and start conversations with trusted suppliers, as well as building a strategic vision for the future through support with grant funding, governance, and fundraising."
In response to a need for stronger connections between the education and business sectors, the group will eventually expand to multiple locations across the Midlands and South West.
Sterling Education Group will hold their lunchtime networking events every second Wednesday of the month, featuring guest speakers from the education sector and providing both informal and formal networking opportunities.
Award-winning business manager Howard Rose, of Balsall Common Primary School Academy, was the guest speaker at the launch event.
Mr Rose, who has a history of building successful partnerships with local businesses and was recognised with the Business in Education Partnership award, shared his insights on the importance of collaboration between the two sectors.
"I am honoured to be a part of the Sterling Education Group and the positive impact it will have on members and the education community," he said.
"I believe in the power of partnerships to enhance learning and provide better outcomes for students, and I am excited to see what the future holds for this group."
The Sterling Education Group will be hosting the next meeting on February 8 2023 from 12pm to 2pm at Sixways Stadium.
These meetings provide networking opportunities between local businesses as well as presentations from professionals working within the education sector. We are currently seeking speakers from the education sector for these meetings.
