A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a fire at a city home. 

The fire took place at a property in Comer Road, St John's, at around 8pm on Tuesday night (February 14). 

A 32-year-old man has been arrested and remains in police custody.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We were called to Comer Road shortly after 8pm yesterday following a report of a fire. 

"A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to danger life and he remains in police custody."

On Wednesday morning the home had smoke damage on the wall next to the door while the Ring doorbell had been completely burnt out. 

The occupants declined to comment.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told us they were called to the fire.

The spokesperson said the front door of the property was on fire but had been extinguished before the arrival of firefighters from Worcester and Malvern. 

A 4x4 vehicle that was parked at the property was also on fire.

It was extinguished using one hose reel jet and the vehicle was made safe, the spokesperson said. 

All occupants were accounted for.
