A FARE dodger has been hit with a hefty fine. 

Magistrates heard Ose Christian, of Arrowsmith Avenue, Worcester, boarded a train in Pershore without paying.

The court heard the 25-year-old had not paid for a ticket, entitling him to travel on the Great Western Service, on July 30 last year.

After magistrates found the case proven in his absence magistrates announced Christian would be fined £220.

Christian was ordered to pay compensation of £5.60 - the cost of the ticket. 

He was also ordered to pay costs of £180 and a victim surcharge of £88. 

Christian was ordered to pay the total, £493.60, in full by March 17.
