Golfers have raised more than £4,000 for a charity that support people with acquired brain injury across Worcestershire.

Stuart Wood challenged his teammates at Bransford Golf Club to raise as much as possible for Headway.

They took on a number of tasks including a 72-hole golf challenge, prize draw, donations and sponsorship.

Mr Wood said: “I chose Headway because I worked with them in the past and have a great respect for what they do in the community.

“I know all of the money raised will be put to very good use and on behalf of all the generous members of Bransford Golf Club, thank you Headway for the support you give to your clients.

“I would also like to thank Leo Tarrant, golf professional at Ravenmeadow GC for his help and support.”

Mandie Fitzgerald, CEO at Headway Worcestershire, said: “We’re delighted to have been supported by Stuart and welcome his help in keeping us on track to help adults with ABIs in the local area.

“Our plans for 2023 exceed previous years’ and £4434 is a fantastic amount to have raised for us.

“The whole team extend their thanks to Stuart for his time and efforts.

“We very much hope to continue to be supported by local people and their fantastic fundraising throughout 2023.”
