FIVE people were arrested at a protest in Ledbury today (Saturday).

A protest was taking place at a site on Bromyard Road when police officers arrested four people on suspicion of criminal damage.

Another individual was arrested on suspicion of breaching the public order act.

West Mercia Police attended the protest to ensure minimal disruption to the local community.

The protest has now concluded and everyone involved has left the area.

Superintendent Mel Paley said: “We respect the right to peaceful protest, however, where criminal offences are committed will take action against those suspected of being involved.

“I would like to thank the local community for their understanding and co-operation as we responded to the protest.”
