A TIKTOK chef from Worcestershire unwittingly said a rude word on BBC's Saturday Kitchen Live.

Poppy O'Toole, from Bromsgrove, was meant to say the phrase "on a whim", but she accidentally substituted the last word for a similar-sounding four-letter word.

Totally oblivious to her faux pas - she continued to cook but host Matt Tebbutt was forced to apologise to viewers.

She was cooking while discussing her success on the social media platform, where she has now amassed an impressive 4million followers and videos with over 35million views.

Matt Tebbutt could be seen stifling a small laugh before quickly carrying on with the next question, and a couple of laughs could be heard in the background.

The TikTok chef took the blunder in good humour, later sharing a TikTok of the segment with the caption "Imagine saying an inappropriate word on TV Live at 10 in the morning."

Later on in the show, Matt said: "You may have heard a word that Poppy used earlier in the show. She genuinely did not know what it meant. I will explain it to her I promise, after this show."

During the apology, Poppy could be seen looking visibly confused and jokingly said: "Am I getting cancelled? What have I done?"

Saturday Kitchen guest and Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon could also be seen laughing after the incident.

After the incident, the blunder began to trend on Twitter in the United Kingdom, prompting users to give their reactions online.

Many people on TikTok were confused about the word, with some saying "I have literally never heard of that word before" and others saying "It was shocking and offensive to those over 90."
