A YELLOW weather warning for snow and ice has been extended. 

The Met Office issued the warning earlier this week before the snowfall in the county on Wednesday morning (March 8). 

The warning has now been extended until 7am on Thursday morning.

The warning says: "Spells of snow and icy patches may cause travel disruption during Wednesday into Thursday morning. 

"What to expect - possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers

"Bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times possible

"Some rural communities could become temporarily cut off

"Power cuts may occur and other services may be temporarily affected

"Untreated pavements and cycle paths might be impassable with a chance of injuries from slips and falls on snow-covered or icy surfaces."

What is the forecast for Worcester and Worcestershire?

The current forecast is for sleet for the rest of the day with strengthening wind. 

The maximum temperature is 5C.

The forecast for Thursday is it will turn unsettled as a further band of rain and snow moves northwards, accompanied with some strong winds.

The maximum temperature is 7C on Thursday.
