Villagers’ homes and cars have been shot at with what is believed to be a catapult.

West Mercia Police is investigating criminal damage to two properties and a vehicle in Charlton, between Evesham and Pershore.

Officers believe the suspects are driving around in a vehicle and firing ball bearings using catapults or similar devices.

It is thought that the victims were targeted at random.

All three have now received “reassurance visits” from the local safer neighbourhood team.

Now, police are appealing to residents for more information.

Anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in Charlton at around 8pm on Sunday, March 5, is urged to get in touch.

READ AGAIN: Elderly woman scared to go outside after home is shot at

Last week, we reported how an elderly woman had been left scared to go outside after her house was shot at.

Doreen Brewer, 80, was watching TV when her patio door window suddenly shattered.

“It is a bit worrying and intimidating for older people to have that happen to them," said Doreen's daughter, Hayley West.

John Yeo, who lives in a village outside Pershore, then got in touch to say that his car had been shot whilst parked on his driveway, causing £528 of damage.

“This needs to be stopped very quickly because someone will be seriously hurt," he said.

Any details about the damages can be reported to West Mercia Police by visiting www.westmercia.police.uk and quoting incident reference 00464_I_05032023.
