A popular Indian restaurant and takeaway in Droitwich are closing after 11 years of business. 

Spice Fusion on St Andrew's Street announced with a "heavy heart" its closure after struggling with rising costs and staff shortages. 

However, the business still wishes to go out with a bang and is asking for as many of its customers to pay them a visit before they close.

A spokesperson for Spice Fusion said: "It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the permanent closure of Spice Fusion.

"For the past 11 and a half years, it has been an absolute joy to serve the community.

"However, due to the rising costs and staff shortage, we can no longer sustain our business.

"We cherish the memories we have made and the friendships we have made.

"We will miss you all dearly.

"Our final day of service will be on the 25th of March 2023, and we hope to see as many of you as possible before we say goodbye.

"It has been an absolute honour and privilege to serve this wonderful community, and we are grateful for the support and loyalty we have received over the years."

News of the restaurant's permanent closure has been met with sorrow by its customers, with dozens taking to social media to show their support.

One customer said: "I am so devastated for you.

"You will be missed."

Another customer added: "Really sorry to hear this, we will miss you.

"All the best for the future, and thanks for the great food, good times and memories."

Since Spice Fusion opened 11 years ago, it has become a staple place within the Droitwich community. 

One found customer of the restaurant said: "You have done wonderful things for the community and have become an honorary "Monner" after all these years.

"I will miss my good friend."

Another added: "It is such a lovely place.

"Your dedication to the community has been incredible, and you will be missed!!

"We will see you before you go!"

Spice Fusion said if customers are planning to visit during the next few weeks to book in advance.

The restaurant will close for business on March 25.
