SHOCKING CCTV footage has been released showing burglars breaking a window and stealing a staggering amount of rare jewellery.

The Jinney Ring Craft Centre in Hanbury had £35,000 worth of jewellery stolen from one of their small craft businesses the day before its fifth anniversary.

CCTV footage released by the Jinney Ring shows two burglars forcing entry into the building and stealing 68 antique items.

The CCTV is filmed in Galantique Antiques, based on the first floor of the craft centre, and shows the two people smashing a window to gain entry into the property.

They are filmed looking around various units until they smash a glass cabinet and steal items inside.

West Mercia Police are now appealing to the public to help them find the stolen items and the people in the CCTV footage.

The victim of the burglary has offered a £1,000 reward for information that directly leads to the arrest and prosecution of the offenders.

In a bid to recover the items, the Jinney Ring also appeared on the BBC programme Crimewatch.

Speaking on the show, which aired on Tuesday (March 14), PC Dave Hawkins said: "There is the obvious financial impact to replace the items.

"£35,000 is a significant amount to lose for a small independent business.

"But emotionally, it has had a massive impact.

"The Jinney Ring is an integral part of the community."

The craft centre on Hanbury Road was broken into at about 1am on Wednesday, March 1 - the day before its 5th anniversary of the antique shop's opening.
