A NEW secure dog field near Worcester has confirmed when it is hoping to open its doors.

Stockend Farm, of Bransford, will be launching a new secure dog field called 'Off The Leash Bransford', on Saturday, April 1

The field will be available to dog walkers on a booking system and will feature six-foot high fences to allow dogs to run free without fears of getting lost.

The website is now online and allows dog walkers to book 45-minute, one hour and 90-minute sessions, with prices starting at £8.

James Kent, owner of Stockend Farm, said: "I am very excited for the opening, our first weekend is almost entirely booked up already.

"We have a car park with spaces for three cars, bins for dog poo, a coded gate and the six-foot mesh fence to ensure dogs can run around safely.

"The field is over two acres, and there are also three agility activities for the dogs, including a large tractor trye, posts to weave in and out of and also a tunnel.

"When the weather gets better there will be even more coming."

There is a designated parking area for dog walkers who have booked a session.

Visitors need to arrive no earlier than five minutes before their session start time, with dog walkers able to close the gate to the car park when getting dogs from their cars.

All dogs using the field must be wormed and have all vaccinations up to date.

A video posted on the Stockend Farm Facebook page in January teased the site of the secure dog field.

Mr Kent previously said he got the idea to open the field during the pandemic and realised he had the perfect field on his land where it could be located.

He said: "During covid, the idea came about after a few conversations with friends.

"A lot of dog owners are nervous about letting their dogs off the lead in an uncontrolled environment.

"I have the perfect field which was not the most suitable for our sheep so it seemed like a great idea to make it happen."
