HERE are the criminals jailed for the most serious crimes in Worcestershire during the first few months of 2023.

 

Usman Multani, his younger brother Kaasim, and Shahenul Alam were jailed for their roles in a "ferocious" gang attack in which the victim had his face hacked by a machete.

Usman Multani, 28, of Westminster Road, Ronkswood, Kaasim Multani, 24, also of Westminster Road, and Shahenul Alam, 32, of Ivor Road, Sparkhill, took part in the attack which took place in the early hours of November 24, 2019, outside the St John's Ambulance building in Wyld's Lane.

Worcester Crown Court heard the victim suffered a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain. 

The three were sentenced for grievous bodily harm with Usman Multani jailed for 11 years; Kaasim Multani for nine years and Alam for six years.

A DRUG dealer who imported various drugs including cocaine and traded in ecstasy is now behind bars.

Alexander Greening was jailed for 32 months for importing drugs at Worcester Crown Court.

Greening had been listed at an address in Martley but gave his address to the court as Elmdale Road, off Cornmeadow Lane, in Worcester. 

The prosecution said Greening had 'a significant role' in the offence.

AN 80-YEAR-old man who committed sexual assault and made indecent photographs of a child is now behind bars.

Gordon England was sentenced for three sexual assaults and for taking indecent photographs of a child. 

England, of Main Street, Offenham, near Evesham, was jailed for 32 months.

And a prolific thief who stole from Boots, TX Maxx, and ASDA and burgled a city cafe is now behind bars.

Among the items Paul Sheward, 35, of Sansome Place, Worcester, stole were razor blades, men's shirts, washing detergent, meat and chilled items.

Sheward also burgled Papa's Cafe in New Street stealing cash and a till drawer to the value of £150. 

Sheward was jailed for a total of 49 weeks at Kidderminster Magistrates Court.
