A LANDLADY has defended her business after accusations of hosting noisy big parties and setting off fireworks late at night.

Oana Petre, owner of La Nasu on Tolladine Road, is under fire by residents who say she hosts large, noisy parties every week.

La Nasu went live on Facebook on Friday (March 17) to show a firework display outside the venue connected to Altaf Grill House.

The one-year-old restaurant is located in the centre of a residential estate.

However, Cllr Mohammad Altaf, who owns the building and is the wards councillor, said the fireworks were from Christmas.

The Facebook post has since been removed.

Several residents have contacted Worcester News about the high level of noise coming from the buisness.

Oana Petre, the owner of La Nasu, said: "We do have parties, but it is on our licence, and we asked about the fireworks, and we understood we could do this.

"Pubs and bars everywhere have noise.

"My neighbours have nothing like that, so to them, it is strange.

"It is normal for us to make noise."

La Nasu has a license to stay open until 1am on weekends.

Ms Petre said the parties only happen on Friday and Saturday evenings, and on weekdays, they serve food and close at 9pm.

Ms Petre added: "I do not know why there are so many complaints as we are allowed to do this.

"I feel really sorry for everything, but we have done nothing wrong.

"they can come here for coffee, and we can talk about this.

"Every weekend till 1am, we will be like this."

She also said the business has spoken to neighbouring properties in the past, and they are okay with the noise level and, on some occasions, attending the parties.

Cllr Altaf said: "They do have parties and have live music on the weekends but the business can do that.

"They have permission to stay open until 1am on Friday and Saturday.

"The fireworks were at Christmas time, but if there were fireworks recently, I will put a stop to it because of the noise.

"If residents have any issues, please contact the landlady or me."
