A woman has been taken to hospital following a kitchen fire.

Emergency services were called to Tetbury Drive last night after a fire broke out at a home.

Upon arrival, at around 8.45pm last night, West Midlands Ambulance Service crews found a woman in her 20s with non-life threatening injuries

She received treatment from ambulance staff, with a paramedic officer also sent to the scene, before being taken to Worcester Royal Hospital for further assessment.

Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews, one each from Worcester and Droitwich, also attended the incident on Wednesday (March 22).

Crews arrived to find the flames had already gone out.

An inspection was then carried out using a thermal imaging camera.

The road was closed due to the incident, with West Mercia Police also in attendance.

Tetbury Drive is now reopen.
