A CAR has been left stranded in floodwater after three people were rescued from the vehicle.

Fire crews rescued the individuals after they drove a grey Volkswagen into a pool of water on Horton Lane.

Horton Lane has now been closed off with cones and tape, and the car remains stuck under a bridge.

Droitwich and Worcester's water first responder crews arrived at the scene at 11.06 last night (Friday).

The crews managed to walk all the individuals to safety.

A Hereford and Worcester spokesperson has warned drivers not to drive through flood water.

They added: "We received a call to a vehicle stuck in flood water, and the persons were then walked to safety.

"The vehicle has been left for Highways or police to collect."

Heavy rainfall yesterday (Friday) and early this morning has led to flash flooding in Worcestershire.

The county woke up to multiple road closures this morning, with the worst hit areas being Malvern and Ledbury.
