A TEENAGER who punched and kicked another woman outside a city centre fast food restaurant after being told to go back to Tolladine faces a wait to learn her fate.

Tamsin Watkins, of Brickfields Road, Worcester struck the victim multiple times after being wound up by the comment outside McDonald's in The Cross.

Prosecutor Val Hart said at 8.25pm on March 24 this year the victim had initially slapped the 18-year-old.

Mrs Hart said this led to an altercation between the pair which had been caught on CCTV.

The dramatic footage was shown to Worcester Magistrates Court which showed Watkins punching the victim, grabbing her by the hair before kicking her when the victim was on the ground.

"It wasn't a quick blow, and she walked away," Mrs Hart said.

"There were several blows, kicks and punches."

Mrs Hart said in police interview Watkins explained she told the victim off for dropping a cigarette which led to the incident.

The defendant, who admitted assault by beating, told police she had been wound up by the comment about being told to go back to Tolladine.

Mrs Hart said, although Watkins was hit first, it was not self-defence as Watkins had accepted her actions went beyond that with a more serious assault.

Jason Patel, defending at the court on Thursday, (April 6), said of the footage: "You see Miss Watkins tries to walk away.

"Clearly something is said that brings her back and she reacts to it."

The solicitor said the victim had suffered no injuries and had not supported the prosecution.

Mr Patel said the defendant had vulnerabilities and added, as it was Watkins' first offence, it may be the magistrates would want the probation service to complete a report on her.

After magistrates deliberations chairman of the bench, Vicki Quarton, announced they were going to adjourn the case for the report.

The chairman told Watkins to return to the court on May 26 for sentencing.

Watkins was given unconditional bail, the chairman warning her: "If you were to commit another offence while on bail that would be viewed more serious.

"You need to not get into any trouble before May 26."
