MULTIPLE cars have been keyed parked on a leafy avenue near an area described as a 'crime hotspot'.

A vandal scratched the paintwork of cars parked on Shrubbery Avenue, off Barbourne Road, on a number of occasions between Friday, March 10 and Monday, April 10.

Cllr Jenny Barnes, Arboretum Ward city councillor, said there is a "crime black spot" in areas surrounding Barbourne Road.

She said: "I was aware of this issue and the last I heard it was left in the hands of the police.

"I am hoping some residents on Shrubbery Avenue may have doorbell camera footage or other CCTV images that can help the police with their investigation.

"I think a lot of local crime in the area can be traced to a few properties, which may also be linked to a lot of petty shoplifting we have seen at the Sainsbury's Local on St Georges' Road North."

Following the vandalism, police have now appealed to residents in the area, or any potential witnesses or victims to come forward.
