THIEVES have been caught on a doorbell camera stealing a parcel from a doorstep.

Two people are seen loitering outside the home before one grabs the parcel and they run away.

Fiona Stinton said she has reported the theft to Yodel but "they aren't being very helpful".

The Ring Doorbell footage was filmed at 4pm on Thursday, April 14 on Kiln Crescent, near Gregory's Bank.

The package was later recovered after it was dumped further down the road.

Miss Stinton said she has issued a complaint to Yodel following the incident as the parcel had been left in a visible place where the thieves could easily find it.

She said: "I have managed to get the parcel back now because they dumped it down the road but that isn't the point.

"I have reported it to Yodel who just left the parcel on the doorstep though but they aren't being very helpful."

"I wasn't in, the driver just put the parcel down, rang the bell then got straight back into his van without waiting for an answer.

"If I'd had the chance I'd have spoken to him on my doorbell and asked him to leave it somewhere safe but he was back in his van before I even got a chance to do that."

Yodel is an independent parcel carrier that delivers millions of parcels every week across the UK, with 50 sites across the nation.

A spokesperson for Yodel said the driver involved in the delivery has been spoken to about the incident.

They said: “The safe delivery of parcels is our number one priority.

"While the vast majority of parcels are delivered correctly the first time, we are sorry that Miss Stinton’s experience with us did not meet these standards.

"We have contacted the driver involved and taken appropriate action to ensure our procedures are followed in the future.”
