POPULAR British soul singer, Sam Smith has rescheduled their Birmingham gig after being struck by a mystery virus.

Fans were looking forward to watching a live performance of the singer who is best known for songs like Unholy and Writings On The Wall.

And the show, which was set to take place on Tuesday (April 25), is now rescheduled to May 27.

Many fans from Worcester were also planning to go to Resorts World Birmingham in order to see the star perform as it's just under an hour's drive.

However, the singer has been forced to cancel several gigs across the UK on his Gloria tour due to not feeling very well.

The chart-topping singer put a statement on social media and said: "I am so sorry to let you know that my team and I are still really not well.

"So unfortunately we need to reschedule our Birmingham show to May, 27 2023.

"It's so important to me that we give you the very best version of Gloria.

"I don't want you to experience it at anything less.

"Thank you so much for understanding, I know how excited everyone is to see the show, and I feel the same about seeing all of you.

"All previous tickets are still valid for the new date, for any more information, go to my website, samsmith.com, all my love, Sam."
