A 26-YEAR-old man has been fined by magistrates for making comments of a "disgusting nature". 

Luke Bridger, of Ennerdale Close, Worcester, admitted using threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, a public order offence, when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court. 

Mark Hambling, prosecuting, said Bridger committed the offence in Worcester on April 18 last year, the offensive comments made by the defendant being heard by an officer.

The court clerk asked Bridger, who defending himself, whether there was anything he wanted to say. 

"No," the defendant replied. 

Brent Robinson, chairman of the magistrates bench, fined Bridger £80. 

The defendant was also ordered to pay costs of £135 and £32 victim surcharge. 

The chairman said the £247 total was due to the court within 28 days.
