A new art gallery and pottery has opened at Croome Court - as Europe's largest walled gardens celebrates its 10th year open to the public.

The historic gardens are privately owned by husband and wife Chris and Karen Cronin, attracting visitors who follow the ongoing restoration which began in 2000.

The gardens are currently open to the end of September and there are a number of exciting new developments for returning and new visitors to enjoy this year.

These include a brand new mosaic garden and later in the season visitors will be able to observe the mosaic floor as it progresses at the hands of the artist.

Two interactive workshops are also planned - where visitors can meet Claire and assist her as she carefully places pieces of this massive and intricate puzzle.

A brand-new gallery and pottery has also opened this year in the visitor centre.

Owner Karen, said: “We are very excited to announce the opening of Croome Gallery and Pottery which will include exhibitions from various artists.

"A resident potter will be on hand to demonstrate his skills and to showcase his amazing hand-crafted works.

"There are some beautiful paintings and ceramics available to view and purchase. Many are created by some famous artists and potters, as well as Pete and Sarah’s own pottery, which is now being made and painted on the premises.”

The gallery will be open from 11am to 5pm Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays until October 1.

Access to Croome Gallery and Pottery is via the National Trust Croome visitor centre. There is no additional entrance fee to enter the gallery and pottery on Fridays (usual National Trust admission applies).

To access Croome Gallery & Pottery on Fridays, visitors will need to follow the signage to The Walled Gardens’ gate and down the hill behind the gazebo. The Walled Gardens are closed on Fridays and you will not be able to access the garden from the gallery.

The Walled Gardens will be open Saturdays and Sunday every week until October 1, plus bank holidays. Opening hours are 11am-5pm, with last admissions at 4pm.

Tickets cost £5 per adult and children are free. All funds go towards the ongoing restoration and maintenance of the historic gardens.
