A NUISANCE persistent offender has appeared in front of city magistrates to admit his latest offence of sexual assault.

Michael Sefton, who has appeared in this newspaper for a number of offences in recent years, made his latest appearance at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday, (May 25).

The 60-year-old admitted a charge of sexual assault on a female.

The court heard the offence took place on June 30 last year and involved sexual touching the victim had not consented to.

Aleigha Adams, prosecuting, said Sefton is due to appear at Worcester Crown Court for sentence on other matters this month requesting the sentence be adjourned till after that case, with Barry Newton, defending, agreeing with assessment.

Charles Townsend, chairman of the magistrates bench, told Sefton to return to the magistrates court for sentence on Friday, July 7.

He gave Sefton unconditional bail.

Sefton, of Stanhope Way, Great Barr, Birmingham, told the magistrates: "I won't get into anymore trouble", before leaving the court.

We previously reported Sefton, previously of Pershore, had admitted sexual assault and exposing his genitals at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Magistrates heard at that hearing Sefton intentionally touched a woman sexually without her consent and exposed his genitals - intending that someone would see them and be caused alarm or distress - at the hospital in April last year.

In the past we have reported on Sefton being in court for making time-wasting calls to the emergency services, and making a public nuisance by keeping neighbours awake with loud music.
