THE SUN is shining and everyone is looking for a way to keep cool.

Many will take the long Bank Holiday Weekend as an opportunity to hit the beach.

Unfortunately for us here in landlocked Worcestershire, the nearest seaside resort is Weston-super-Mare.

However, you can get a taste of the shore a little closer to home, at Cotswold Country Park and Beach.

Just an hour’s drive from Worcester, the sandy beach features a swimming lagoon, adventure playgrounds, water sports and the largest inflatable waterpark in the area.

“With the bank holiday and half term approaching we are very excited to be welcoming visitors to the park,” said a spokesperson.

“The weather forecast is looking fantastic for the next few weeks.

“We are now open every day for the season and have so many activities on offer!

“Whether relaxing with friends and family on a sandy beach beside a beautiful swimming lagoon, or enjoying water sports within beautiful parkland.

“Cotswold Country Park and Beach offers the perfect day out, time after time.”

Alongside the main swimming lagoon is a children’s beach, suitable for families with toddlers and equipped with an enclosed play area, paddling pool and grass picnic area.

Those looking to take to the water can board swan pedalos, mini electric boats, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards.

There is also AquaVenture, an inflatable obstacle course on the water offering a “Total Wipeout experience”.

As if that wasn’t enough, a minigolf course will soon be opening at the park as well.

Picnics are welcome, as are dogs, and families can also hire BBQ pitches or grab a bit from the Café and Beach Shack.
