A SURVEY which will allow parents and carers to have their say on plans for the new secondary school is live.

The month-long survey is now live to allow parents and carers to have their say about plans for the new secondary school in Worcester.

The new 600-place school is set to be built on fields off Newtown Road in Worcester between Worcestershire Royal Hospital and the A4440 Nunnery Way roundabout.

Previous consultations held on the new school have allowed parents, carers and stakeholders to give feedback on the age range of the school, the size of the school, the values of the school and the principles of the school.

Cllr Kyle Daisley, the new chairman of Worcestershire Council said he was pleased to attend this week’s consultation event, as one of his first engagements in the role.

Cllr Daisley said: “I was pleased to be able to attend this event and show my support for a project that will make a big difference for the local school communities in Worcester when it’s completed.

"It is really important that local residents have the opportunity to have their say about any concerns they may have as the planning progresses.”

Earlier this month, we reported that signs appeared along a field which has been earmarked for the building of the new high school.

At the entrance to the field from Newtown Road, an A4 laminated poster has been displayed with a QR code to scan to access a survey.

The school is still on track to open in 2026 and is expected to reach full capacity by 2030.

In February 2021, plans were approved for the creation of the new school in order to meet the demand for school places.

You can view the information from the consultation event at County Hall on the dedicated New Worcester Secondary School pages on the website, under the Open Consultation and Engagement tab at https://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/schools-education-and-learning/new-worcester-secondary-school.

The survey closes on Wednesday, July 12. If you have any questions about the consultation, you can email NewSecondarySchool@worcschildrenfirst.org.uk.
