ROY HOOPER, 67,  Tuffrey Close, Worcester, admitted to stealing money, cleaning products, and grocery items from St Clements Church in St Johns. 

The theft took place on April 18 this year. 

Magistrates found there had been an element of planning through repeated visits to the church, and a breach of trust in stealing donated goods intended for a food bank. 

Hooper was given a one-year community order which requires he complete 40 hours of unpaid work. 

The defendant was told to pay costs of £100 and victim surcharge of £95. 

 

SOPHIE MERRY, 18, of Lichfield Avenue, Worcester, admitted two theft offences. 

The court heard Merry stole a Gousto box valued at £45 and a parcel worth £70 in Worcester on December 12 last year. 

Merry was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £22.50 in compensation, as well as £100 costs and £26 victim surcharge. 

 

DANIEL PENRICE, 21, of Hunters Close, Droitwich, admitted to motoring offences. 

Penrice admitted aggravated vehicle taking, and driving without a valid driving licence and insurance.

All the offences took place in Droitwich on March 13 this year. 

Penrice was given a one-year community order requiring he completes 80 hours of unpaid work. 

Penrice was disqualified from driving for a year.

The defendant was told to pay £150 costs and £114 victim surcharge. 

 

SUSAN WASHINGTON, 58, of Mousehall Farm Road, Brierley Hill, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis to police after being suspected of drink driving. 

The offence took place in Worcester on May 21. 

Washington was disqualified from driving for 18 months although magistrates gave her the chance to take the drink-drive awareness course to reduce the ban. 

Washington was fined £153 and told to pay costs of £135 and victim surcharge of £61.
