THE return of a popular community event is fast approaching.

St George’s Square in Barbourne will once again play host to its annual summer fair.

Organised by St George’s CE Church, it will feature all the classic fete activities from tombolas and face painting to raffles and craft stalls.

There will also be a range of refreshments including pulled pork and jackfruit rolls, local strawberries and cream, Pimm’s and Barbourne Cider.

Entertainment will be provided by singer Jodie Lauren, the Worcester Ukulele Club and Shulah Oliver on the violin.

Last year saw the summer fair make its return, having been postponed in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

Reverend Jo Musson said at the time: "I can't believe it.

"We've not done this for three years and in that time we've lost a few friends.

"I'm just so proud of everyone for putting on a great event for the whole community.

"For me, the success of an event like this is when I see lots of people I don't know and I've seen plenty of new faces today."

The fair is free to enter with funds raised going towards St George’s CE Church.

St George’s Square will be closed to traffic for the day, with the fair itself running from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday (July 8).
