HUNDREDS of hungry foodies have flocked to Worcester city centre for a popular food event.

Worcester Dining Club is back at Cathedral Square this afternoon (Friday, July 21), bringing a host of independent food vendors to the city centre.

Independent vendors were offering a wide variety of food and drink options, with the skies clear and the sun shining down.

Disco Fries serve a variety of hand-cut loaded fries and side dishes from an eye-catching van.

Peter Hannibal, the owner of Disco Fries, said: "The first couple were very successful and today so far the consistency has certainly kept up.

"You can see how many people have turned out tonight. The atmosphere is amazing, the sun is out and it's blazing. What more can you ask for?"

One of the quirkiest businesses at the event is Flats Doughnuts, with their unique vegan desserts sold from a retro-style van.

Other vendors at the event included Beef on the Block, a street food steak house, and Only Jerkin' which sells fried chicken with Caribbean flavours.

Hope You're Hungry, which sells a variety of East Asian Street Food, Street Souvlaki selling traditional Greek BBQ items and Mrs Patel's, which specialises in Gujarati soul food, were all also in attendance at the event.

Jack Brabant, founder of Digbeth Dining Club said ahead of the event: "This is our third of four events scheduled in the Cathedral Square this year and it's been a roaring success.

"Over the years we've been inundated with requests to come to the city centre so it's been great to finally be able to feed the people of Worcester and bring along with us the unique DDC atmosphere."

The next Worcester Dining Club is set to be held in September.
