A GIN distillery is re-opening in Worcester at its new location this weekend.

Piston Gin Distillery at Danks 2, 62 Diglis Road, is set to welcome the public this weekend as part of its soft launch.

The shop will be open this weekend and gin schools will be running, but there is no open bar.

Both the exterior of the business and interior plans have been teased online ahead of the opening, with a new image recently posted showing a look at the new interior.

Cllr Lynn Denham, joint leader of Worcester City Council, said she recently attended a meeting organised by the business to settle residents' fears over potential noise.

She said: "I attended the meeting with Cllr Jabba Riaz alongside residents to hear from Piston Gin regarding concerns over the potential noise and opening hours.

"Piston Gin Distillery has moved into Diglis Basin after purchasing and transforming an empty warehouse with an amazing view.

"We were able to meet the owners with residents, who expressed their concerns about the impact of this new business.

"Many would like Piston Gin to be a positive presence, but they will need to be considerate and earn the trust of their neighbours."

Grace Stringer, managing director of Piston Distillery, said: "We are very excited to be returning to Worcester, this has been in the works for a very long time.

"As we are perfectionists, there are still a few things we will be working on next week but we are happy to be having our soft launch this weekend.

"We wanted to hold this meeting so that residents could meet us and find out more about what we want to do and answer any questions.

"We love the area and want to be a respectful neighbour and live in harmony with everyone around us."
