"CANNABIS ruins lives" says a Worcester city councillor after an arrest was made following a cannabis farm discovery.

Over 100 plants were discovered in an address on Drake Avenue following concerns from residents on Thursday morning (August 3).

Officers from St John's Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) and the Criminal Investigation Department raided a property and a man was arrested at the scene.

Cllr Udall said: “This is an ongoing investigation, I am aware of some of the circumstances and welcome the work of the police which will hopefully prevent further and future illegal drug activity, which has been the cause of local concern for a long time.

"Cannabis is not a safe drug and is not harmless, it causes significant problems for the users and the community. It is a gateway for other drugs and criminality.

"I urge any resident who has any information about the illegal growing, distribution or use of cannabis, to contact the police.

"It ruins lives and we as a community need to work together to resolve the problem of illegal cannabis use”.
