WE visited a gin distillery which returned to Worcester over the weekend at a new venue.

Piston Gin in Diglis has opened at Danks 2, 62 Diglis Road, running gin schools and a shop where you can purchase Piston Gin products.

A Worcester News reporter visited the venue to take a look inside and see how the business was coming along.

The interior is a blend of sleek and modern, mixed with the rustic history of the building which can be seen overheard with the exposed wooden beams.

There are two long tables with seats on either side for the gin schools, with each seat having its own equipment to make the gin.

On the walls, there is a vast array of botanicals for customers to use which also act as decorative features.

Piston Gin was founded in 2018 and was formerly based in Severn Street. The business also has another location at Staverton, between Cheltenham and Gloucester.

The business held its soft launch event over the weekend and saw its new venue packed with excited customers taking part in its gin school classes.

Grace Stringer, managing director of Piston Gin, said: "It was really good, we had a full house with some really brilliant feedback.

"We were so pleased with how the event went considering we were literally ready to go at the eleventh hour, but it was great and we are very happy to be back in Worcester."

"It is such a tranquil space in a beautiful area. It is really on brand for us and just looked right. The bare brick and the copper tone really suited us.

"Also, it is the heart of Worcester and that is what we are all about. We wanted to return as soon as possible but only to somewhere as wonderful as our previous venue, and we think we have really found it here."

There are also plans for the future at the Worcester location which the team are in the process of arranging.

She said: "In the future, we have cocktail masterclasses, vermouth-making classes, corporate hire and team building events as well as private hires for birthday parties all on the horizon.

"Eventually, we will also have nights with some famous faces in the gin world who are signed up for next year, with tickets hopefully going on sale soon."
