BOOMTOWN Rats and Belinda Carlisle will be headline acts at a popular music festival in 2024.

The Sunshine Music Festival, in Upton-upon-Severn, has just wrapped up another year, but organisers are already looking ahead to 2024.

Next year will be the 15-year anniversary of the event, and Boomtown Rats and Belinda Carlisle have already been confirmed as the first two headliners.

Steve High, of the Sunshine Music Festival, said: "We are really happy to have Boomtown Rats and Belinda Carlisle confirmed for next year.

"We do plan to announce another major headliner at Christmas this year which we are very excited for."

Boomtown Rats are an Irish rock band led by Bob Geldof, and consisting of Pete Briquette, Garry Roberts, Simon Crowe, Johnnie Fingers and Gerry Cott.

The group had two UK number ones with 'Rat Trap' and 'I Don't Like Mondays'.

Belinda Carlisle is an American singer, who starred with the Go-Go's, before achieving solo success with 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth', which was a UK number one for two weeks.

This year's Sunshine Music Festival saw Ronan Keating, Marc Almond and 10CC headline.

The latter was secured at short notice after The Proclaimers were unable to perform.
