An NSPCC spokesperson said: “Poyner has admitted and been sentenced for serious sexual offences against two girls.

"Child sexual abuse can have a significant and long-lasting impact on young people and it is vital that the victims in this case are receiving all the support they need to move forward with their lives.

“Child sexual abuse continues to take place at alarming rates – last year there were more than 105,000 offences recorded by police – and it is really important that communities across the country are aware of the risk and are ready to report it to the authorities or the NSPCC helpline if they think a child is at risk.”
