"EXTORTIONATE rising costs" have left bosses at a city centre shop with "no other option" but to close.

The owners of Convenience and Off Licence Store at Worcester Bus Station said it is with "deep sadness" that they have shut their doors. 

A handwritten sign signed by Neil and Natalie has appeared on the shop's shutters alerting customers to the news.

The pair thanked all their wonderful customers for "their support and the laughs" they have provided throughout the years.

A sign on the front of the store read: "To all our loyal and wonderful customers, 

"It is with deep sadness that due to extortionate rising costs, deteriorating footfall and recent circumstances, we have had no other option than to close our business.

"We have loved serving such lovely people and will dearly miss you all.

"Please look after each other, you are very special to us.
