A vintage clothing sale with a difference is coming to Worcester.

Worth The Weight, which sells vintage and pre-owned clothes in bulk by weight, will be at Worcester Cathedral on Saturday, October 7.

It’ll be the first time the sale has taken place at the cathedral - and organisers are promising that there’ll be more than nine tonnes of stock to rummage through.

These include a range of autumn coats and jackets as the weather starts to get colder.

There will be 60 rails of clothing, where shoppers can pick and mix from denim, sports, ladies fashion, men’s fashion, outerwear and accessories - and pay on the scales at the end.

It costs £20 per kilo, with prices starting at £1.

It’s a cost-effective way of getting bulk sustainable clothing and helping the environment at the same time.

Heavier items are capped at £20 so even if something weighs over a kilo, you’ll never pay more than £20 for one item.

Organisers say it’s best to point out heavy items to your server at the till to redeem the discount.

Based in Sheffield, Worth the Weight was founded in 2018 as a way of fighting fast fashion. Since its inception, the company has travelled the length and breadth of the country with tonnes of vintage stock every weekend.

Chris Davies, Worth The Weight organiser, said: “Worcester is always a great place to come this time of year and we’re excited about the new venue.

“Knitwear is always very popular, so we’ve made sure to stock up for all the sustainable fashion pioneers.”

Worth The Weight will be coming to Worcester Cathedral on Saturday, October 7 from 11am until 5pm. Entry is £3 for early birds and £2 after.
