ARTY people of all ages joined in the fun at a community art project held at St George’s CE Primary School.
About 150 people enjoyed art activities as part of the Big Draw Festival which the school in St George's Lane North has previously won awards for on several occasions.
The Big Draw Festival is a worldwide celebration of drawing with the theme this year set as drawing with the senses.
A spokesperson for the school said: "It was wonderful to welcome 150 people to St George’s to enjoy a day of creativity based around seeing, hearing, smelling, touching and tasting."
Adults and children experienced a range of drawing and art workshops including weaving with herbs, observational drawing and sketching to music, an outdoor sensory walk and tasting some mystery icings on biscuits.
The highlight of the day was a series of sessions run by author and illustrator Petr Horácek.
Everyone was encouraged to draw like Petr and were inspired to draw goats, bears, elephants and a host of other animals.
A parent said: “It was such a joy to see the children enjoying the day.
"We all liked having a chance to use different media and techniques.
"It was a real thrill to listen to Petr sharing his love of art and stories.”
