A man whose body was found in the River Severn has been named by police.

Christopher McCabe went missing on Saturday morning after police received a call that a 19-year-old man went into the river in Upton.

His body was found by police officers yesterday (Wednesday), West Mercia Police confirmed.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: A body recovered from the River Severn in Upton-upon-Severn yesterday (11 October) has been identified as 19-year-old Christopher McCabe.

"Christopher went missing on Saturday, his body was recovered from the river yesterday by officers carrying out searches of the river."
