DOZENS of motorcyclists will line the streets tomorrow for the funeral of a much-loved biker.

Friends of Shaun Dufty, who died in a bike crash, will honour him with a ride through Upton-upon-Severn as part of his funeral.

Members of the WAC Motorcycle Club and the Steel Horse Bike Club will depart from Welland Road at 2.15pm on Thursday, October 26, accompanying Mr Dufty, who will be travelling in a Triumph Bonneville motorbike hearse.

Mr Dufty, from Upton-Upon-Severn, was riding his motorcycle along the A470 Rhayader to Llangurig in Wales at approximately 8.55 am, on Sunday, October 8, when he was involved in a crash.

The grandfather died at the scene.

Alan Burton (known as Burty), a member of the WAC and a close friend of Mr Dufty,  will be participating in the procession tomorrow.

He said: "I knew Shaun for 14 years, which was a shame as I wished I could have known him longer.

"He was the type of person who would do anything for anyone. He was honest and genuine to his core and a truly great character.

"His family always came first, and his bikes were second. We are all still in shock with what happened and I can say he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him."

His family said their world has been shattered by his loss and they have been left with a huge hole in their hearts.

The family said: "Shaun was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and had a wide circle of friends.

“He was a fun-loving man who was a member of two motorbike clubs, enjoying riding his bikes with the bike members on Thursdays and Sundays and went to regular bike meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

“His hobby was getting 1980’s bikes and restoring them back to their original condition. He enjoyed his foreign holidays, snorkelling, loved his food and had an amazing zest for life.

“Shaun was a genuine, loving trustworthy man. Our world has been shattered by his loss and we have been left with a huge hole in our hearts.”
