A WATER leak has led to the closure of a section of a key city route.

A section of Wyld's Lane, outside number 70A, is closed while Severn Trent Water (STW) teams repair a water leak.

Worcestershire Highways posted on X, formerly Twitter, about the water leak on Wednesday morning (November 8).

The repair is not currently showing on the Severn Trent Water (STW) website but there is a job shown in nearby Compton Road.

That says: "We're currently working to fix a general water supply issue at Compton Road.

"Our repair work will start by November 13. Our team will be working hard to make sure it's fixed as soon as possible."

A STW spokesperson said: "A spokesperson for Severn Trent said: “Essential repairs are taking place on Wyld’s Lane fixing a burst water pipe, that our teams are working as quickly as possible to get fixed.

"To keep them and others safe, a section of the road has been temporarily closed.

"We understand this can be frustrating and apologise for the impact it’s having on those living in the local community, but we’re working hard to get these vital repairs completed as soon as possible and thank everyone for their patience as we do this.”
