THE countdown has started for the Droitwich Spa Christmas light switch on.
Droitwich Town Council and community groups are preparing for this year's Christmas light switch, which will also mark the 400th baptism anniversary of John Hemminge.
Fairground rides, Santa's Grotto, dance performances, a John Hemminge Tribute and choir singing will take place on November 25 to mark the annual festive event.
John Hemminge, who was baptised in the town, was a great friend of Shakespeare and after moving to London became an actor-manager of The King’s Men.
The Countdown and Switch On will be by the Mayor Cllr Kate Fellows, a Shakespearean Actor and Santa at 6pm.
