A Worcester-based security and access management company has been named one of the best companies to work for in the UK.
The Key Safe Company, based at Nunnery Park on Hornhill Road, was accredited as 'Very Good' in The UK’s Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work for in 2023 by Best Companies.
They made their first entry into the competition, securing a Top 50 spot on the list, ranking at #44.
The accolade reflects the company’s commitment to employee engagement, based on anonymous staff surveys.
Founded in 1996 and employing 30 staff members, the company offers secure storage solutions, including police-preferred key safes and access control systems.
Having sold over two million products, they've made their mark in fields ranging from holiday lets to in-home care.
David Ogden, founder and CEO, was full of praise for his team: "Our people are experts in their fields, with a passion for the products, services, and company culture.
"Without our amazing team, we simply wouldn't be as successful", he said.
He added the award was truly for the employees.
Staff survey results showed 96 per cent enjoyed their work-home life balance, with 100 per cent feeling a sense of communal aid.
Furthermore, personal growth was experienced by 92 per cent of workers.
Employee benefits range from equal profit-related bonuses to flexible working patterns and surprise birthday day offs.
Regular invitations for ideas to improve the company are welcomed and rewarded with £100 in vouchers if their idea contributes to wider organisational success.
Further initiatives include health plans, charity challenges, and even an 'office dog day’ each month, where a colleague brings their pet to the office.
Jonathan Austin, founder and CEO of Best Companies, said: "Companies that prioritise their employees and organisational health will inevitably find success.
"By continuing to innovate their practices, improve their business strategies, and find new ways to show their employees how valued they are, these organisations are leading the way in engagement.
"The Key Safe Company should be proud of all that they have achieved this year."
