Horsey beach named one of UK's prettiest autumn walks

Horsey beach was featured in a list compiled by national newspaper The I, which looked at 30 of the best places to watch the leaves fall and was noted for its natural beauty and animal spotting.

It said: "Between late October and early January, you can see baby seals along the east Norfolk coast near Winterton-on-Sea and Horsey.

"The 11-mile coastal walk between the two villages takes in the whole colony, but there's a shorter, three-and-a-half-mile circular route around Horsey village and its beach.

"Head across fields full of wintering birds such as waders to the track over the dunes and down to the beach to see the seals."

Horsey is best known for its grey seal colony and many people flock to the beach to watch the seals from a safe distance.

The three-and-a-half-mile circular route is part of the National Trust and can take around an hour and a half to complete.

Friends of Horsey Seals, a charity dedicated to protecting the grey seal colony at Horsey and Winterton, warned that it is currently pupping season and the public should stay well away from any animals on the beaches.
