Strange blue lights were spotted in the skies above Worcestershire last night.
A number of readers saw the lights at about 6pm on Wednesday, November 22.
The light was seen moving quickly through areas including St John’s in Worcester, Droitwich, Stourport and Kidderminster.
But this isn’t quite a case for the X Files.
It’s actually a measurement train known as the ‘Flying Banana’, which is sent out by National Rail and assesses track conditions.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: “Our measurement trains plays a vital role in maintaining the railway - helping us to spot potential faults before they affect services.
“The train travelling in the Worcestershire area overnight travels between Derby and Swansea every four weeks and is one of the most advanced on the network, helping us to keep passenger and freight trains running reliably.”
