SUSPICIOUS chalk markings appearing on a wall outside of a home have been causing worry among residents.

West Mercia Police received a report on Tuesday, November 21, about chalk marks appearing on the wall of a home on Bransford Road, St John's.

PCSO Dave Clee, of the St John's and Bedwardine safer neighbourhood policing team, said that despite the concern, the markings are not believed to be anything of concern.

He said: "I understand that this causes people to worry, on account of not knowing the origin or meaning of the markings.

"This being said, we are unaware, at this point, of this type of marking being linked to any sort of theft or burglary recently.

"In the past, this sort of marking has been known to be used by running and walking groups as a means to waymark a route."

PCSO Clee also said that if anyone has knowledge of the chalk markings, or anything similar, the safer neighbourhood team want to be informed.

Residents can email PCSO Clee at dave.clee@westmercia.police.uk, or alternatively,  you can report information by calling 101, or using the online 'Tell Us About, form on the West Mercia Police website.
