A FASHION retailer in Worcester city centre has announced it will be closing its shop in the new year.

Signs announcing the closure of Jack Wills' city store, in High Street, have appeared on the front and in the shop.

Signs outside read: "Jack Wills - This store will be closing February 2024.

A Worcester News reporter asked staff for more details who directed us to the shop's owners, the Frasers group.

We have approached Frasers for comment.

That came after The Times newspaper reported the fashion retailer was looking for a cheaper property in Worcester.

At the time a spokesperson for Jack Wills told us: "Like all retail businesses, we are always reviewing our store portfolio across the UK to ensure that our stores are in the right locations and in the right areas.

"However, we have no current plans to leave Brighton, Chester, Cheltenham or Worcester.”
