SEVERAL mobile networks experienced outages on Friday afternoon, affecting thousands of customers across the UK.

EE, Three and O2 all went down for several hours on Friday, with most issues resolved by 8pm.

Network coverage monitor DownDetector received 19,393 outage reports for Three between 3pm and 8pm, with EE and O2 experiencing a similar peak in outages during this time.

Services such as Just Eat also appear to have experienced outages, with several users reporting difficulties navigating the app.

Some of the biggest areas affected include Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Customers took to social media to express their frustration.

Some Three customers have even reported receiving texts from the network operator during the outage, stating that they had used up all of their data allowance.

Three, which appears to have been impacted the most, said it was aware of the issue and that engineers were working to resolve it.
