Residents at a Malvern residential home have been cooking up a storm at a fundraising bake off.

Staff and tenants at Barchester’s Elgar Court have been busy crafting Christmas Bauble Cakes for community foodbanks in Malvern and Upton-upon-Severn.

Brandy-soaked cakes, decorated as Christmas baubles, were donated to three foodbanks for recipients to enjoy over Christmas.

General Manager Sarah Cadwallader said: "Christmas is a time for giving and it is so important to give back – we hope our Festive Christmas Bauble Cakes bring lots of joy to everyone."

A resident at Elgar Court said: "I have always loved baking and we had so much fun making and decorating these cakes.

"It makes us all so happy to think that people will be enjoying our cakes, and after all is there really anything more delicious than a home-made Christmas Cake?"
