Platform Housing Group has made a donation to support Christmas community events.

A total of £350 was donated to Kempsey Community Interest Company (CIC).

It is helping to fund a carols event at a local care home, and ensuring village children visit Santa.

The donation is part of Platform Housing Group's annual Christmas Kindness Campaign.

An initiative which contributes £60,000 to local events, charities and food banks, spreading some Christmas cheer.

John Weguelin, chair of Platform Housing Group’s Board said: "Platform’s Christmas Kindness Campaign supports charities and organisations who aim to build kinder, closer and more connected communities by bringing people together and offering much needed support services.

"When the cost of living continues to be a daily challenge it’s great that Platform can help spread a little happiness to families and children who need some extra support this Christmas and throughout the year."

Kempsey CIC, which works to bring people of all ages together for regular social events, has praised Platform’s donation.

On behalf of Kempsey CIC, Simon Bott said: "Over the past eighteen months the CIC has been working with Paul from Platform and building a relationship which is invaluable in delivering community benefits to people living in Kempsey.

"We would not have been able to deliver the inclusive moments of joy at the children’s visits to Santa at our local Christmas Fair or Carols at The Lawns Care Home without Platform’s generous donation and support."
